This new tour only available from Thailand Great Tours is a great opportunity to visit Karen Hill Tribes in their natural surroundings. The tour is designed for all and involves no strenuous trekking, the ideal choice for student groups, families with young children and senior citizens. Here you will have the opportunity to meet local hill tribes going about their daily activities. You stay at a Karen Hill Tribe lodge with the luxury of very comfortable rooms and great food. The scenery is stunning and you will enjoy riding elephants through jungle and mountain streams. You will also visit a Lisu Hill Tribe village and see Lisu women dressed in their brightly colored costumes. The tour includes a visit to the tranquil town of Pai nestled in a valley surrounded with mountains which are the home of many hill tribes.
DAY 01 Chiang Mai - Mae Taeng - Wat Chan - Karen Hill Tribe Lodge (L/D)
Morning pick up from your Chiang Mai hotel and head north (approx 160 kms to Wat Chan). Stop at the local market and see local Thai people selling their goods. Visit Pong Duet Hot Spring a largest geyser. Then continue to the mountains until you reach Baan Wat Chan the home of the Karen Tribe people for over a hundred years. You visit Baan Chan Temple older than 300 years. Enjoy lunch with scenery of biggest natural pine forest. From here you head into the mountains to the Karen Hill Tribe Lodge by a narrow mountain roads to Karen hill tribe village of Baan Huay Ya Tai arrive at the luxury “Karen Hill Tribe Lodge” in amazing natural scenery. A welcome drink will be provided by the Karen villagers afterward you can relax or stroll around the hill tribe village. Dinner is served at the Lodge and afterward enjoy chatting around the camp fire. Where you will meet the villagers before retiring to the comfortable bed in your private room.
DAY 02 Karen Hill Tribe Lodge - Royal Project - Pai (B/L/D)
Morning breakfast at the lodge and walk around the village to encounter hill tribe farming and daily activities, then short trek to the elephant camp. Experience elephant ride for 1 1.2 hour through the jungle and back to the Lodge or refreshments. Healthy lunch will be served at the Lodge. Depart by local truck to visit Lisu hill tribe village and the Royal Project Baan Sao Dang where non indigenous fruit and vegetables are grown. Continue the trip to Pai, a small charming city nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains. Dinner is served at a Chinese restaurant in the city, then Enjoy walking around mini night market where hill tribes sell their goods. Afterward retire to your resort and overnight.
DAY 03 Pai - Back to Chiang Mai (B/L)
Morning breakfast at resort. Drive to visit Wat Mae Yen temple, then continue to Lod Cave where you will see beautiful stalagmites and stalactites, then return to Pai for lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch return to Chiang Mai around 16h30 and transfer to your hotel. – End of Service.
