This is a great mixture of the warm culture of Chiang Mai and a 3 day adventure trek through breathtaking natural scenery. You will stay and explore hill tribe villages only accessible on footpath. A portion of the trek is on elephant back and the final stage is an awesome 20 km bamboo raft journey through mountains of untouched jungle. This is a truly unique and unforgettable journey - highly recommended.

DAY 01 Arrive Chiang Mai (D)

Arrive at Chiang Mai and meet your tour guide and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon, visit Doi Suthep Buddhist temple this is one of Thailand's most revered temples and must be visited. The mountain has beautiful views overlooking Chiang Mai City. A 300 step Naga (multi headed serpent) staircase leads up to the temple and for those who need fast access there is an elevator.

Evening : Enjoy a traditional khantoke dinner in a Northern Thai teak house where you are entertained with a selection of Northern cultural dances.

DAY 02 Chiang Mai (B/L/D)

Today you visit the fascinating old city of Chiang Mai. The tour includes the ancient city wall and moat and a 710 year old temple with sacred crystal Buddha. See the largest stupa in Chiang Mai and vivid murals showing Chiang Mai ancient Thai life.

Experience the colors and fragrances of the Thai market, where you witness the local Thai life style.

Visit the Hot spring at Sankampeang and Baan Chang Nak, where you see the ancient art of Lanna Elephant Wood Carving. You visit a Lanna village where skills have been handed down from generation to generation to produce bamboo umbrellas, silk and cotton weaving and traditional painted pottery to name a few.

DAY 03 Chiangmai - Mae Malai - Karen Hilltribe village (B/L/D)

From Chiang Mai you are off to Mae Malai, a beautiful mountain trekking area with hilltribe villages accessible on footpath. You will see beautiful waterfalls, hot springs, and the unique experience of spending time exploring a hill tribe village and staying overnight in Karen teak house. (basic items provided are: mosquito nets and blankets).

DAY 04 Karen Hill Tribe village - Elephant Camp - Hill Tribe village (B/L/D)

After a breakfast with delicious wild coffee and tea on a log fire you trek through beautiful jungle to a village. From here you ride on elephant back through the jungle mountainside to a Lahu hill tribe village. Here you have time to explore the village and overnight in a villager’s house.

DAY 05 Hill Tribe Village - Rafting - Shan village - Chiang Mai (B/L)

After breakfast experience an incredible 20km bamboo raft journey. This peaceful journey through dense jungle clad mountains is only interrupted by the sound of the rapids, the occasional hill tribe village or elephants going about their daily business. From the lunch pick up point you are transferred to your Chiang Mai hotel.

DAY 06 Depart Chiang Mai (B)

Free leisure time and transfer to Chiang Mai Airport for next destination.
